We Know It Can Feel Awkward To Get Started. Here Is All You Need To Know.

1. Getting Started

A 55 minute session costs £85.

a 30 minute session costs £45.

You can book an appointment by choosing your therapist and clicking the ‘book now’ button under your chosen therapist.

Yes, our therapists work online only using a secure platform called Care Patron and our sessions are run as fully confidential video calls.

Online therapy allows you to choose flexible times for your sessions and you can access it from anywhere in the world, suiting your needs whatever your lifestyle.

Face to face therapy means navigating traffic, limited times where you can book your favourite therapist and a service limited by your location. No one needs this extra stress!

Counsellors: The primary aim of counselling is to help individuals navigate through current challenges, offering a supportive space where one can discuss feelings, thoughts, and experiences in a non-judgemental environment.

Psychotherapists: Focus on underlying issues: Psychotherapy aims to uncover and address the root causes of psychological distress, rather than just managing the symptoms.

You can read more about this in our blog article here.

You can find all our therapists on our therapists page. You can read their profiles and choose which therapist or counsellor you think might suit your needs best.

All our therapists and counsellors are fully qualified and members of professional organisations in the UK and all have experience in working with men’s mental health.

They all follow ‘integrative’ principles meaning they combine different therapy types depending on your needs, to help you best. Read our therapists bio’s to choose which one resonates best with you.

Yes, all our therapists hold membership of professional psychotherapy or counselling organisations in the UK such as the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).

All our therapists are based in the UK and have active membership of UK based professional bodies such as the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).

We do not outsource our work to therapists from outside of the UK.

Yes, when booking in, there is a box at check-out where you can leave a message to briefly explain what you are looking for help with.

It is helpful for our therapists as well if you do this as they can come better prepared and maximise the best use of time in the session.

Yes, it’s important you have a therapist that you can resonate with and to think about your preferences such as a therapist who has a certain background, or specialises in a specific type of therapy. If you feel you would like to try a different therapist, for whatever reason, you can do so by going to our therapists page and booking another therapist.

All our therapists abide by their professional ethical frameworks, which includes respecting your confidentiality and not disclosing your conversation to anyone else. Our video platform is also secure and confidential.

Our therapists will never disclose your private information and conversations to others.

There are very limited exceptions to this, including if the therapist feels you are intending to end your own life imminently or intending to hurt someone else. In such a circumstance they may need to inform other professionals (such as a doctor) to get you more support.

Sessions are either 55 minutes long or 30 minutes long depending on which session you choose.

55 minute sessions are recommended for:

  • most sessions and ideally everyone as these are the standard therapy times for most types of therapy.
  • at least the very first session (as you will need more time to discuss your challenges).
  • exploring issues without feeling rushed.
  • tackling complex issues such as traumas, grief, severe depression etc.

30 minute sessions are best:

  • for catch up/drop-in sessions after completing several 55 minute sessions.
  • as an affordable alternative to the 55 minute sessions.
  • for a quick chat covering a simpler issue affecting you.

During your time with us, you can combine between 55 minute and 30 minute sessions to suit your needs.

Most people start with having therapy or counselling once a week.

Some people prefer to have 6-8 sessions in total and then drop in when they need to. Others prefer to see a therapist or counsellor at least once a month, to maintain their mental health and discuss the challenges they are facing.

Some people may need more sessions or less, depending on their needs, but your therapist can discuss this with you.

You can block book 5 sessions with us and get a 5% discount – email us at info@manconfidence.co.uk for this.

You can pay for a session by clicking ‘book now‘ or under your chosen therapist  and following the instructions.

Payment is at the end of booking and by bank card or Google pay.

Cancellations or changes made with less than 24 hours’ notice will result in a full charge for the scheduled appointment. This policy is in place to respect the time and dedication of our therapists and other clients.

2. During your session

Once you have booked and paid for a session, you will receive a secure email link from ‘Care Patron’. When your session is due to start, click the link to start the video.

Any desktop computer, tablet/iPad or mobile phone with a camera is fine for these sessions. You will need stable Wi-Fi access or sufficient data if using data.

The video platform works well for most people. Your therapist will use the phone number you provide as a back up to contact you if there are technical issues.

That’s perfectly fine. You still use the same video link but you can turn the camera off and use audio only. Your therapist can also ring you on your phone if you prefer, just remember to provide a phone number before the session.

No, sessions are not recorded, but our therapists may make notes to help in your future sessions. These notes will always be stored securely by your therapist.

3. After the session

You can book your next session by choosing your therapist, clicking the ‘book now‘ button and following the steps as a ‘returning client’.

Please send an email to info@manconfidence.co.uk specifying the name of your therapist and the query and we will forward this to them.

We take every complaint very seriously, please email us at info@manconfidence.co.uk, giving as much detail as you can about the matter and we will look into it and contact you soon.

Please email us at info@manconfidence.co.uk with any other queries you may have.
